Joy of Life Festival
April 28-29, Alix Goolden Performance Hall
Daniel Lapp’s annual Joy of Life Festival returns this year with two concerts – April 28 and 29 – and featuring an all-new Celebrate Youth Concert.
With over 20 years under its belt, this festival is about “celebrating life and all the wonders it brings us, as we renew our commitment to caring for each other, for the land, and for the environment,” as stated in a press release.
Friday’s concert features the Celebrate Youth Concert with current VCM students and alumni. Special guests include Victoria born and raised, singer-songwriter Aidan Knight, Métis dancers the Joyful Jiggers, and the Veselka Ukrainian Dancers.
On Saturday, the Folkestra and Joy of Life Choir will share an evening of iconic B.C. and Canadian tunes accompanied by Daniel’s house band, plus performances by BC Fiddle Orchestra Alumni, and Daniel’s special guest, Khari Wendell McClelland.
