Singer-songwriter Katie Pruitt is coming to Victoria’s Capital Ballroom on April 22.
Originally from the Atlanta suburbs and now based in Nashville, Pruitt has garnered widespread attention since her 2019 debut.
She has been highlighted as a Rolling Stone “Artist You Need To Know,” one of NPR Music’s “Slingshot: 20 Artists To Watch” and has performed as part of CBS Mornings’ “Saturday Sessions” series and NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk (Home Concert)” series.
Pruitt has also toured with artists such as Brandi Carlile, Indigo Girls, Shakey Graves, My Morning Jacket, American Aquarium, Lucero, City and Colour and more.
Her Victoria show will follow the release of her highly anticipated new album, Mantras, which comes out on April 5 via Rounder Records. The album, Pruitt’s most personal work to date, comes after a time when she went through “extensive therapy” and gets its name from the mantas she would repeat in the mirror.
Her first new album in five years, “Mantras” takes Pruitt’s introspective songwriting to new heights, exploring her search for inner peace as well as the topics of complex relationships with family and religion.
“Mantras is a full circle journey from self-sabotage to self-compassion,” Pruitt said in a press release. “When life gets heavy and the future feels overwhelmingly out of our control, we can learn to turn inwards and build a home inside of ourselves.”
Tickets are available through Pruitt’s website.
