Whether he is recounting his adventures in the wild as a host on CBC Radio or sharing personal anecdotes in his books, Grant Lawrence has an uncanny ability to paint a detailed and colourful picture with his words.

Lawrence is also apt at bringing these words to life on the stage.

The bestselling author, broadcaster, historian and humourist brings his hit tour Stories and Songs to Sidney on March 7 after performing the event in 2023 at Victoria Event Centre.

Between songs from stand-out Canadian musicians such as Joel Plaskett from Halifax, Victoria-area luminary Ashleigh Ball (Hey Ocean), pop-singer-songwriter Lindsay Bryan, and a rare performance from Rob Nesbitt and Andrew Molloy from the Victoria power-pop band BUM, the theatre will come alive with Lawrence’s true stories from B.C.

Lawrence’s stories draw upon outlandish characters from past and present and also material from his bestseller Return to Solitude, his first bestseller Adventures in Solitude and his top-rated podcasts, bringing to life an imaginative capture of the culture of B.C.

Stories and Songs comes to Mary Winspear Centre on Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $34.65.
