The average teacher puts in an exorbitant amount of extra hours, over and above the time you calculated that they spend in the classroom with students, because they are professionals who do whatever it takes to deliver quality services, which is more and more difficult to do as the amount of students in the classrooms and the ratio with special needs has hugely increased, while the services to justly support all students has been diminished.
