In Loving Memory ~
Stephen John Hives passed away on October 20, 2021. Born in Red Deer, Alberta, Stephen was the first of two sons of John Edward Hives and his wife Constance Hives.
Their second son, Timothy, now deceased was born the following year. The boys early schooling was at Fairland School. Stephen continued his education at Red Deer High School.
His father sold the farm in 1947 and retired with the family at Royal Oak on Vancouver Island. They attended church at St. Michael and All Angels, where his parents are now buried.
Stephen began his working life in 1949 in the B.C. Government Civil Service. He enjoyed the challenges of the work environments in Victoria and Vancouver until his retirement in 1986. He met Heather, the Love of his Life. They were married in 1967, their Centennial Project.
He was always attracted to the holiness of the church. After his retirement he could be found at St. Andrew Church in Sidney helping where needed. For his faithfulness he was honoured with other members of the Dioceses who were also appointed members of the Order of the Diocese of British Columbia. That was truly an unforgettable day in in life. Thanks be to God!
Service will be held at 2pm on May 14, 2022 at St. Andrews at 9686 Third Street, Sidney, BC. Vaccination passports required.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to support Out Reach by the Parish of St. Andrew, Sidney, BC
