In Loving Memory ~ A memorial service is being held for Vancouver Island businessperson and community giver, Phillip Malcolm Dagger.
Dagger, passed away Monday Aug. 9 at the age of 69.
After immigrating to Canada from the United Kingdom, Dagger pursued his passion as a chef before purchasing the already existing Galaxy Motors in Colwood in 1990. Over the years he expanded the business to include locations across southern Vancouver Island.
Dagger was a world traveller, with favourite destinations including Hawaii, India, Ethiopia, Laos and Cambodia. He loved to spend time with his family —including his dogs —and cook for others.
Dagger was a community builder; he was often found barbecuing for his staff, helping to organize food drives, sponsoring minor teams and contributing to various charities.
Dagger is survived by his niece, Amy Jones, her husband and her two daughters, and nephew Mark Jones, his wife and son. Dagger's sister, Janice Jones, passed away 10 years ago.
A Memorial Service will be held for Phil on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2 pm for invited guests to attend in person due to Covid-19 restrictions.
All others are welcome to join virtually via Zoom by clicking the link found on Phil's obituary page at
