In loving memory ~
With heavy hearts and deepest sadness, our family announces the passing of our Mom, Lorraine Steel on October 2, 2023, in Kelowna, British Columbia at the age of 91. Mom was surrounded by her four adoring daughters.
Mom was recently predeceased by her husband, Bruce in May 2023 after 70 years of marriage. She is survived by her family, Debra, Lynn (Allan), Carol (Randy), and Lori (Jordan); 7 grandchildren (Derek, Clarissa, Tanis, Todd, Matthew, Alexis, and Landon), 11 great-grandchildren and her brother (in-law), Lance Steel and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Stony Mountain, Manitoba in 1932, Mom was the only child of James and Lena Sellars. In 1950 she began a career in the banking sector, and married her high school sweetheart, Bruce, in 1952. Mom was a devoted military wife and mother. She eagerly went along for the ride, adventuring throughout Canada from one posting to another, raising their 4 girls from Coast to Coast.
Family was everything to Mom and she cherished her girls more than anyone. Her kindness, compassion and loving nature made those close to her very fortunate.
Mom, we will miss you more than words can express. You shone a light on our family that will never fade. For that, we are forever thankful. Rest peacefully.
