February 25, 2020
On the evening of February 25, 2020 Fern Harrison passed away peacefully, she was sent off with love to her next journey surrounded by family, her absence was felt deeply and immediately. We who called her "Mom", "Grandma", "Great Grandma", "Auntie" and "Friend" will miss her dearly.
Fern fought hard to overcome a brain aneurysm that she suffered from eight years ago with strength and courage. Fern and her husband Joe were very involved in the community and with Unit 302 of the Army and Navy Club in Sidney, BC. Fern and Joe loved to socialize and their door was always open in their home for people to stop in for a cup of coffee, a visit or a meal. Fern was always helping her friends by driving them to appointments, doing errands or just being a friend and good neighbor. Fern's proudest accomplishments were her family and the job she retired from at BC Ferries. After retirement Fern enjoyed every moment to the fullest dancing, travelling and fishing with her husband Joe, or just sitting around their fish pond in their back yard enjoying the peaceful tranquility.
Fern will be missed by many, but especially by her loving family who will forever remember her strength, love and generosity.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Army and Navy Veterans of Canada Unit 302 located at 9831 Fourth St., Sidney, BC, on Saturday April 25th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson's Society of British Columbia, Cancer Society or the Army and Navy Veterans of Canada, Unit 302, Sidney BC.
