In Loving Memory of Christine (Chris)Waterman June 20, 1940-February 26, 2017

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Chris Waterman passed away on Sunday February 26th at the age of 76 while in Victoria General Hospital. Chris was born in Armstrong, BC on June 20th, 1940. Chris is survived by her three sons; Matt (Penny), Dan and Ray; her two grandchildren Briana and Douglass; many other extended family members and numerous friends she grew to know in the Westshore. She was always an active citizen in the community; spending time on the Metchosin Hall Committee and part of the organizing committee for Metchosin Days in the 1970’s, volunteering at the concession for Triangle Little League when her boys played ball, and for so many years volunteering at the Prince Edward Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Chris operated the Metchosin Post Office (out of her home) from June 1971 – July 1973. She also enjoyed working in the canteen at Royal Roads Military College from 1983-1986. Chris worked at the Six Mile Fish Market and the Hatley Park Florist in the 1990’s. A celebration of life, open to all, will be held on Friday 24 March at the Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Branch in Langford, BC. 761 Station Avenue. Remembrance ceremony from 1pm to 2pm and reception to follow until 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations be made in memory of Chris to the Legion Poppy Fund at the reception.
