In a token of thanks to the community, the Royal BC Museum invites guests to visit by donation from now through Jan. 9.
Rediscover your favourite exhibits and share museum stories with family and friends. Put down your smartphone and craft a letter for Letter-Writing Week. Discover dinosaurs at our Wonder Sunday event or wander the wood-cobbled streets of Old Town, garlanded with traditional festive finery.
Admission is by donation, which supports exhibitions, research and engaging learning and outreach programs for learners of all ages. Current exhibitions include The Natural History Gallery, First Peoples Gallery, Modern History Gallery and BC Archives on Display.
The exhibit Our Living Languages: First Peoples’ Voices in BC, is an interactive exhibition that celebrates the resilience and diversity of First Nations languages in BC in the face of change. Learn what First Nations communities throughout the province are doing to help their languages survive and flourish.
Also explore the Pocket Gallery, a small display space in Clifford Carl Hall, on the main floor of the Royal BC Museum. The gallery showcases the little-seen behind-the-scenes work of the Royal BC Museum.
The next big exhibit to hit the RBCM is Wildlife Photographer of the Year from Feb. 15 to March 24.
Visit the Royal BC Museum, 675 Belleville Street, by donation Jan. 2 to 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
