This December, join Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre as it presents a new take on Charles Dickens classic holiday favourite – A Christmas Carol— from December 3 to 20 at the Roxy Theatre.

First made famous by renowned British actor Sir Patrick Stewart, this one-person, 90-minute version will be performed by veteran Canadian actor Sanjay Talwar, a multi-year veteran of both the Stratford and Shaw festivals in Ontario.

Bringing to life the dozens of characters that inhabit Dicken’s 19th century Victorian England, Talwar will move from character to character with simple changes in tone and attack as he delivers to Victoria audiences a full experience of why A Christmas Carol has become the most famous holiday story of all time.

Led by a veteran Blue Bridge creative team that includes Jacob Richmond (director), Hans Saefkow (sets), Pauline Stynes (costumes), Rebekah Johnson (lights) and Alex Wlasenko (sound), tickets for this production are available for both live and streamed attendance.

“I am delighted that we are once again able to open our theatre in a safe and celebratory manner,” said Blue Bridge Artistic Director Brian Richmond. “This has been a hard year for our families, our community and the world, and it gives me great pleasure to be able to contribute just a little cheer to brighten our lives. By doing this, it is our way of helping us all head into a new year with strength and optimism.”

Tickets for A Christmas Carol range from $16 to $47, and are available by phoning 250-382-3370 or online at bluebridgerep.ca.

Note: All live performances at the Roxy Theatre follow COVID-19 protocols as outlined by BC’s Ministry of Health.
