Apple bottom jeans might not be as popular as they once were, but the American rapper whose famous catchy hit single sings about them is still expected to sell out his Victoria show this September.

Flo Rida (born Tramar Lacel Dillard, now 44 years old) will be in B.C.’s capital on Sept. 4.

Internationally known for his 2007 breakout single ‘Low’, the Florida-born rapper followed up with other US Billboard chart makers, including Right Round (2009), Club Can’t Handle Me (2010), Wild Ones (2011, not to be confused with the album) and My House (2015).

While he hasn’t produced as much in the last decade (his last album was Wild Ones, released July 3, 2012), he continues to release singles yearly. His latest, Feels Right (I Love It) (Feb. 13, 2024) is true to his brand: a high-energy pop-rap song with his signature upbeat style and catchy hooks. He’s also made tracks with top hitmakers like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and T-Pain.

Tickets for the Sept. 4 show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre box office (250-220-7777) or Tickets start at $69.50 for back bowl.
