Tim Hicks will soon be making his long-awaited live debut in Sidney, and this show will be unique for the country singer-songwriter from St. Catharines, Ont.

The Campfire Troubadour Tour will kick off at the Mary Winspear Centre on Oct. 23.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing new places and meeting these people,” Hicks said. “I will hopefully win over some new fans. That’s an exciting thing to me as a performer. I’m ready to get back on the road.”

The tour will be more stripped down and spontaneous than regular shows from Hicks.

“This live show and tour will be different from any tour I have done in the past,” Hicks said. “Instead of six guys on stage, there’s going to be three of us. We’re going to be breaking it down and doing things acoustic and campfire style. It will be more laid back and intimate.”

Attendees can expect to hear songs from his “Campfire Troubadour” albums, as well as other hits and covers.

“I have a lot of material to play,” Hicks added. “This will be a lot of fun.”

The five-time JUNO Award nominee and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award winner has had eight top-10 hits on the Canadian Country chart since his 2012 debut single Get By.

Chetwin country artist Teigan Gayse will open the Sidney show, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the show can be found at timhicksmusic.com.
