On the heels of a hugely successful early baroque concert featuring the Christmas music of Italian composer Giovanni Gabrieli, Christ Church Cathedral is celebrating 2020 with Old Music for the New Year!
Back by popular demand is La Modestine, led by baroque violinist Marc Destrubé, who also performed as part of the Gabrieli group. La Modestine’s afternoon program Jan. 1 (2:30-4 p.m.) includes Masses and Salve Regina settings by Leonardo Leo, Francesco Durante and Nicola Porpora and features vocalists Rachel Allen, Cassidy Stahr, Adam Dyjach and Kyron Basu, all current or former Christ Church Cathedral Choral Scholars.
Admission is by donation.
