Jointly presented by the Victoria Pride Society and the Esquimalt Community Arts Hub, For the Love of Us ALL is a Queer art exhibit exploring community, love, Pride and diversity. It runs July 14 to July 30 at the Esquimalt Community Arts Hub.

A central theme of the exhibit is exploring intersectionality within the Queer community.

Intersectionality is a concept that recognizes that social factors such as ethnicity, socio-economic status, class, gender, sexual orientation, age and ability overlap and create amplified experiences of marginalization.

Within the exhibit, the ECAH community curatorial team will create space, place and belonging for those with interconnected identities.

A primary goal of For the Love of Us ALL is recognizing that the Queer community is in fact numerous individual Queer communities, each with its own unique challenges, and that a better understanding of each others’ journeys and experiences will strengthen our bonds and better enable us to move towards a shared vision of a world without marginalization.

“To effectively challenge society towards creating a better and safer future, we must first look inwardly at our own biases, how we treat each other and most importantly, we must listen and we must learn,” said Denis Eve, VPS Queer Art Exhibit Event Lead.
