A group of Sooke songsters wants to let your inner Adele shine.
The singers are hosting a community singalong on Saturday, April 14. Anyone can show up, and singers are offered a few tips, and everyone joins in to learn new songs.
Songbooks, supplied at the door, contain the lyrics from more than 200 songs, from old-time favourites to Broadway musicals, folk, and pop tunes.

The piano accompanist for the afternoon is Bruce Vogt, who is a professor of music at the University of Victoria. Vogt has accompanied audiences at numerous singalongs in the Victoria area.
As a soloist, Vogt has performed in concerts in Canada and Europe.
“Bruce will have feet tapping, hands clapping and voices raised up in song,” said Marg Anderson, one of the singalong’s organizers.
The singalong is held April 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 1962 Murray Rd. It’s free to attend, but donations are encouraged.
