The mouthwatering 32-day Victoria Hot Chocolate Festival, set to take place from Jan. 20 to Feb. 20, is sure to thrill locals’ palates and sense of community.

In an endeavor to benefit the BC SPCA Victoria Community Animal Centre, a number of local businesses will showcase their inventiveness by creating one-of-a-kind hot chocolate experiences at this delicious event.

Among the participants is Duo Cafe Bakery at Inn at Laurel Point, which has a signature hot chocolate inspired by the flavours of classic Thai coffee. This creation boasts a velvety dark chocolate base infused with the vibrant freshness of basil.

Meanwhile, Floyd’s Diner offers a daring twist with their fusion of chocolate and bacon. Their featured hot chocolate includes steamed milk and (pink) white chocolate, crowned with a generous dollop of real whipped cream and candied bacon. With a total of 14 participating businesses, attendees have the opportunity to savor these tantalizing creations not once, but twice if their taste buds desire.

While each participating business determines the price of their hot chocolate, the Hot Chocolate Festival takes a charitable approach.

For every sale made, a contribution of $1 is collected, with the amount being earmarked for the BC SPCA Victoria Community Animal Centre. The festival was conceived as a delightful means of fostering community bonds while championing a noble cause. This year’s target is to raise $10,000 in support of the BC SPCA Victoria Community Animal Centre.
