On June 2, Canadian music icon Rich Aucoin brings his highly anticipated Is This Real Life tour to Victoria’s Lucky Bar.

Known for his interactive live shows – hailed “part Daft Punk-inflected Dan Deacon, part DIY-driven Flaming Lips as filtered through Girl Talk” by Austin Chronicle – Aucoin is bringing synths, guitars, beats and horns to the stage, all in sync to cinematic visuals and viral looping memes. A technicolour parachute in a sea of confetti will be thrown in for good measure.

Audiences will be able to participate in crowd karaoke, where Aucoin’s lyrics are projected on stage so audience members can add their vocals to the performance.

Aucoin’s accolades include the SiriusXM Indie Awards Emerging Artist of the Year and this May, his Synthetic Season 1 earned Electronic Recording of the Year at the Eastern Canadian Music Awards.
