Lighthouse Brewing Company is celebrating 25 years this month by inviting fans to celebrate with updated brews and a block party.

On Aug. 19, the brewery will welcome people of all ages to their Devonshire Road location in Esquimalt from 3 to 9 p.m. for an afternoon and evening of ‘90s tunes, tasty food and, of course, a sampling of new and fan-favourite Lighthouse brews.

Established in 1998 when there were just 20 craft breweries operating in the province, Lighthouse saw its first success in August of that year when their Race Rocks Amber Ale hit local pubs for the first time.

“We have had the privilege of brewing beers for Craft Beer lovers and newcomers alike and sharing memories in those people’s lives for a quarter century. From beers at the beach fire or ski lodge to weddings and festivals, we have truly relished the opportunities to be along for the ride with you at so many of life’s moments,” the company said in a news release. “We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the support of all our customers and fans, our dedicated employees present and past, and all of our friends and families. So, to all of you who have ever had a Lighthouse beer, thank you very much – we couldn’t have done it without you.”
