The 21st annual Words on Water Writers Festival returns to the Maritime Heritage Centre on March 7 and 8.

The event will feature literary discussions, readings from eight world-class authors, great food, and live music all in a beautiful setting. Weekend passes, which are available online at www.wordsonthewater.ca, include the Friday evening panel discussion, individual readings with each author throughout the day on Saturday, and the Literary Cabaret on Saturday evening. There will be snacks, a delicious lunch and opportunities to socialize with the authors and like-minded readers.

Early bird tickets, an incredible value at $100, are available until January 31. After that, weekend passes increase to $125. With a limit of 150 tickets the event usually sells out, so get tickets soon.

This year, the festival welcomes Shashi Bhat, Michael Christie, Ian Ferguson, Celia Haig-Brown, Jess Housty, Scott Alexander Howard, Susan Musgrave, and Adam Shoalts. This diverse line-up includes poets, adventurers, film makers, mystery writers, short story authors, and novelists. Attendees will hear from established favourites as well as rising stars on the Canadian literary scene.
