I never understand the phrase "taxed to death." Most taxes are paid by the comfortable middle (though they wouldn’t agree they're comfortable) because the poor don't have the money and the rich successfully avoid tax. And I've lived in parts of Canada with a higher tax burden and lower level of services.
If BC'ers feel overtaxed it's probably because they have big appetites.
