Born on Pender Island, BC. Ray passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Ray will be remembered lovingly by his wife Emily, of 65 years, daughters Margaret (John) of Kamloops, Fay (Chuck) of Atlanta, Georgia, grandchildren, Debbie (Ernie), Andy (Cindy), Sara (Andy), Timothy (Sarah), and seven great grandchildren Celina, Ethan, Zackary, Johnathan, Tyler, Jackson and Cole. Ray loved spending time with his family&?friends telling of his journeys as a young man. Ray was a gunner in the army during WWII and returned to wed Emily “the most beautiful girl in the world” as he often called her. They made their home on Pender Island. Ray enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, travel & vegetable gardening. Special thanks to Dr. Wray & the nurses and staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital who contributed to Ray’s care& comfort. A celebration of Life will be held for Ray at Peace Lutheran Church, 2295 Weiler Ave. Sidney, on Saturday, September 24 at 3:00p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Ray’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
