Peter Thornton-Trump

July 25, 2015

With profound sadness, we bid Fair Winds and Following Seas to an adored husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and ultimate friend.

Born in Chilliwack, BC and a longtime resident of the Saanich Peninsula, Peter loved being with people. He was kind, considerate, and thoughtful with a keen sense of humour. A gentleman and most gentle man, his passing leaves a huge void in the lives of many including his wife and soul-mate of 28 years, Diane; his son Geoffrey (Isabelle); grandsons Alexis and Leo; daughter Nancy Ruth; sisters Penny (Sam) and Nancy; Godchildren Nick and Meaghan; nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends in Victoria and across North America.

Peter was adventurous, ambitious, a jack of all trades who mastered so much in his business and personal life. He built a beautiful 25’ classic wooden schooner, operated a successful advertising agency (TTC Design) and loved to snorkel and explore the beaches of Maui. Summer days found him sailing local waters, catching salmon and hauling in fresh crab to be shared with friends.

He was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed, and took on many projects for friends.

In addition to being a gifted artist, woodworker and craftsman who built his own home, he was a man with many interests including model railroading.

Peter and Diane’s families would like to thank their many friends for the endless happy memories, loving support, and comfort in the past and at this sorrowful time. We’d also like to gratefully acknowledge the loving care provided to Pete by the Saanich Peninsula Hospital nursing staff.

A service will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 01, 2015 at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive. Victoria.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the

Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation, or other

charity of your choice.
