Olive Mildred Irene Whyte

WHYTE, Olive Mildred Irene Passed away on August 30th after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on Sept 26th, 1919. Olive is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Jim and 6 children, Rick (Bonnie), Linda (Lawrence), Jim (Marion), Pat (Andy), Judy (Michael), and

Randy; as well as 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Delia Kemp and Florence Holding and 3 nephews.

She was a founding member and tireless volunteer for the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary for many years, and a community volunteer and advocate for children in crisis.

Many thanks from Olive’s family to Dr Marshall and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit of Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their support

and care of mom over the last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 2166 Mt Newton X Roads, Saanichton, BC, V8M 2B2. A Memorial Service will

be held at First Memorial Funeral Home, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria

on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at 10am.
