It is with deep sadness we announce that Marlene Richardson, 78, passed away peacefully after a short but brave battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, John and her mother Doris. Greatly loved and fondly remembered by her children Ronda, Linda (Chris), grandchildren Kaitlin (Anthony), Emma, siblings John (Freida), Bernard (Nancy), Veronica, Russell (Ellen), Yvonne (Lorne), Alexander (Nancy), Aleta (Greg), and many other extended family members and friends.
Marlene touched so many lives deeply with her kind, caring and generous nature. Everyone loved coming to "Mar's" house to enjoy her company, raid her always full jujube and jelly bean jars, and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or glass of wine while admiring her beautifully maintained gardens.
Marlene will be interned at Hatley Memorial Gardens to rejoin her husband on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Due to COVID restrictions, this will be a private ceremony and a service will not be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honour to her favourite charities: BC Cancer Research Foundation, BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, Victoria Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation, World Wildlife Federation.
