On February 27, 2018, John passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, with his family at his side. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Kathy, sons Greg (Louise) of Michigan, Mark (Marivic) of Calgary, John Jr of Calgary, daughters Frances of Ottawa and Jane (deceased).
John is survived by his brother Ernie (Pauline), and was recently predeceased by his sister
Esther Repchik (Michael-deceased).
John will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Christine, Matthew, Stephanie, and Nicole and Michael.
John had a successful 35 year career with the T. Eaton Company. John was a highly regarded volunteer for many years with the RCMP's Victims Services program.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 0900, at Saint Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church in Sidney, B.C.
