October 8, 1926 - January 11, 2021
Our dear Mom, friend, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Auntie Jean died recently, after a full and rich 94 years.
She taught us the importance of respecting the natural world and of treating all living things with kindness and respect. She deeply appreciated birds, plants, flowers, insects and animals, large and small. Jean got huge pleasure from her walks, from a sunny day, and from seeing a beautiful flower, a lady bug, or hearing a bird sing.
She loved her family deeply, and was committed to her Elk Lake Baptist Church community. Jean helped out with anything that needed to be done, loved to teach, and strongly believed in the importance of inclusion. She made deep long lasting friendships. And she loved to travel!
Jean was predeceased by her husband Jim, sister Enid, and her second husband Alan. She is survived by her sons; Dave (Suz), and Gord (Pam), grandchildren; Wistaria (Samantha), Rowan, Matai, and Chelsea (Tristan), and great grandchildren Fiona and Jocelyn.
We appreciate the gentle and attentive end of life care she received in Sidney All Care. We will miss her greatly. Sadly, we won't be able to have a "proper" celebration of her life until Covid restrictions are eased. She lived long and well. Keep on walking Jean!
