Jean Carlaw REIMER

We are sad to announce the peaceful passing of Jean Carlaw Reimer (nee Gardner). Predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years Cornelius (Neil) Reimer in 2010 and son Raymond Reimer in 2007. She leaves her daughter Bonnie Gerow (Ed) and sons Doug Reimer (Alice) and Lynn Reimer (Lynn), daughter-in-law Cookie and special friend Elizabeth, her 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, as well as great-step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She leaves her sister Marion Osborne of Gibsons, B.C. and brother-in-law Edgar Reimer (Colleen) of North Vancouver. Jean was born in Harris, Saskatchewan and moved to North Saanich in 1928 where Parkland School is now located. She married Neil in 1942. By 1945 she and Neil were able to start their dairy farm which they named Boughneath. The farm still raises beef cattle and grows hay. Jean enjoyed being a 4H leader for many years and her many friends at St. Paul’s United Church. There will be a memorial service Saturday November 19th at 1p.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 10030 3rd St., Sidney, B.C. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saanich Historical Artifacts, 7321 Lochside Dr., Saanichton, B.C. V8M 1W4 or the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation (2016 Extended Care Unit Programs and Equipment Fundraising Campaign).
