CHAPMAN, HECTOR John (“Hec”) Nov. 29, 1927 – Oct. 3, 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our loving father, grandfather, brother & good friend. On the evening of Wednesday, October 3, 2007 his children held his hand and said good-bye as he passed peacefully at the Alert Bay Hospital. As a child, Hector was continuously moved from town to town, with his parents as officers of the Salvation Army. As an adult, “Hec” finally settled in 1957 in the small village of Alert Bay, British Columbia & enjoyed every aspect of this wonderful community that he made his home. He was a taxi driver, butcher, and fisherman but moreover, “Hec” was everyone’s friend. Hector is survived and dearly missed by his son (Casey), daughters (Deanna), & (Karen), and his grandchildren (Shawndra), (Drake), (Skylar), (Tabitha), (Harley), (Lexi), (Carole), & (Emma). He will be sadly missed by his brothers (Gord), & (Les), & sister (Dot). Hector was predeceased by his father ( Harold) & mother (Dorothy) & very good friend (Gilbert Popovich).
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Alert Bay Legion on
Sunday, October 28, 2007 @ 1pm
