In loving memory ~
George bravely endured many years of post-polio syndrome and cardiac disease. He passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC.
A true gentleman, George will be greatly missed by his family & friends. He is survived by his wife Marina, children Paul (Andrea), Grant (Sheri), Joy (George) Handley, and Scott (Fay). He treasured his grandchildren Madison, Hannah, Noah, Aiden, Bridget & Luke. “Grandpa George” will be fondly remembered by the Graham family: Sandy, Bernie, Michelle, Melissa, Tracy & Lucas; all of whom held a special place in his heart.
George was born in Benito, Manitoba and lived on the family farm with his parents, his twin brother ‘Dickie’ and 5 older siblings. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s degree in Soil Science and worked as a horticulturist with both the Federal and Provincial governments before retiring to Sidney BC in 1989. George was an active member of St Andrew’s Anglican Church, the Sidney Garden Club, Fruit Testers, Dog Obedience groups and BC Post-Polio Awareness Support Society.
A memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation – Cardiac Care. Obituary
