It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy
Margaret Petch (Hall) on Sept. 4th, 2010. She is predeceased by her
husband Mel Petch, sister Muriel Ford and parents Pearl Edna and Ernest Raymond Hall. Dorothy was born at
Resthaven Hospital in Sidney on June 24th, 1925 and grew up on the Experimental Farm on Saanich Peninsula. She married Mel Petch at St. Paul’s United Church on Mar. 25th, 1947.
Learning to play piano at an early age helped Dorothy develop a love of music she shared as an organist, pianist and choir member. Dorothy put family first and managed to adapt to military life while raising 6 children at a number of air force bases across Canada. She will be missed by her loving children, Gary (Wendy) Petch, Gail Stacey, Don(Barb) Petch, Shirley (Jim) Wright, Susan (Doug) Mills and Brian (Cathy) Petch. She is survived by her brother Barry Hall, 11 grand-children, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sat., Sept. 18th, 2:00 PM at St. Paul’s United Church, 2410 Malaview Ave., Sidney. Donations may be made to Victoria Hospice Foundation.org
