LYONS, Betty May

Passed away in Abbotsford, B.C. on September 27, 2008 at the age of 83. She will be greatly missed by her family in Canada, Hawaii, and the United Kingdom.

Born in Scotland, Betty came to Canada as a war bride and lived throughout the prairies and settled in White Rock. She lived a significant life, enjoyed entertaining her family and friends and loved a good debate on current events.

Predeceased by eldest son Peter in 1969 and husband Morley in 1993, she is survived by son Bob (Julie) of Honolulu; daughter Penny (Ken) Sakamoto of Victoria; son Larry (Wendy) of Manassas, Virginia; grandchildren Dana (Trisha); Reid. (Chiho); Sarah (Chris) and Zak Graham; and Alexandra; and great-grandchildren Deni and Nina; a sister Dale Geils in Victoria; special brother-in-law Rod Lyons and many nieces and nephews. She often made mention of special nephew Dr. Damian Moran (Sally) of Sheffield, England and they will each miss each other's sense of humor.

A celebration of Betty's life was held on Saturday, October 4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Recovery Association, Box 2652, Abbotsford, BC V2T 6R4.
