In loving memory ~
Barbara was born in Bedford, England. T/Cpl Davies served in the Royal Air Force photography division from 1941-1946. She emigrated to Canada around 1950 and found a job with the BC Forest Service as a photographer. Many of her pictures appeared in "Beautiful BC" magazine. She was proud that she retired in 1986 as a manager.
Barbara was an avid outdoorswoman. An original Green Mountain Snowbird and ski instructor, legend has it she discovered the future Green Mountain ski area while flying overhead for work. Barbara loved to travel, especially scuba diving in the Cook Islands and the Caribbean. She and her best friend, Bud Peetz, co-owned several sailboats and spent many summers cruising the Gulf Islands with friends and the Peetz clan. Barbara was also a talented gardener. She grew artichokes and even had a huge espalier kiwi bush trained along her deck.
Barbara leaves to grieve her sister Elizabeth Davies in England, cousin Colin Cameron in Paris, and friends Wendy Taylor, Jytte Diller, and Janice Peetz Lodge. Sincere thanks to Linda Fullerton for her many visits and to the staff of Kiwanis Pavilion.
