Allan Richardson Waldie

Allan Richardson Waldie, 85, died peacefully and with dignity, June 9, 2011, at

‘The Lodge at Broadmead’ in Victoria, B.C.

Allan was born June 19, 1925, in Nelson, B.C. and resided a good portion of his life in Trail, B.C. He was a veteran of the Canadian Army serving overseas in WWII. Following his military service he entered his father’s insurance business in Trail, ‘Waldie Agencies’. Allan moved to Vancouver Island in 1973 and has resided in Sidney, B.C. since 1990.

Allan is survived by his traveling companion, best friend and wife of 25 years, Marjorie Waldie (Pownall), his three step-children, Lyn (Geoffrey), David (Debbie), Angela (Dave), and his two children, Ken (Nicole) and Allison (Darren).

In addition he leaves behind his surviving siblings, Art, Jim, Dave, Ruth, Hetty and Glen, his grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, his first wife Frances, as well as many other relatives and friends. Allan will be greatly and deeply missed by so many people.

No funeral service will be held and a private cremation will take place.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Veterans Health Centre and Palm South at The Lodge at Broadmead, as they showed great care and compassion for Allan and for each member of the family.
