Love history? Journey back in time at Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum, a volunteer-led restoration project and museum in Fairfield. Step into the drawing room and experience a Victorian family home.
Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum has started offering guided tours of the restored 1865 cottage for the first time since before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Saturdays at 1 pm, visitors are encouraged to take the path past heritage apple trees and beautiful gardens, and step into one of only a few 1860s houses still standing in Victoria. From the bright and airy drawing room to the charming children’s bedroom, the house has been restored with extraordinary care to appear as it did when the Roscoe family called it home.
Admission is by donation, recommended at a minimum of $5 per person. Tours must be booked ahead of time at https://tinyurl.com/2p854czb.
All funds support the entirely volunteer-based Ross Bay Villa Society, which owns and operates Ross Bay Villa. To protect guests and volunteers inside this cosy dwelling, masks are mandatory to enter the house (check ahead for other pandemic-related health protocols).
