The Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank and the Mary Winspear Centre are proud to present the annual Barney Bentall & The Cariboo Express fundraising concert. All proceeds from the concert will go directly to the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank.

The Cariboo Express is a one-of-a-kind variety show hosted by Barney Bentall. It boasts a cast of up to 17 performers, including Matt Masters, Ridley Bent, Dustin Bentall, Wendy Bird, Geoffrey Kelly (Spirit of the West), Geoff Hicks, Kirby Barber and the red-hot backing band known as The Gold Rush Allstars.

The Cariboo Express hosts a special guest musician each year as part of the show. Past performers include Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo), Neil Osborne (54-40), Daniel Lapp, Leeroy Stagger, Kendel Carson and the late John Mann (Spirit of the West).

Over the past 14 years, Barney Bentall & The Cariboo Express has raised over $300,000 for the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank and its programs through sponsorship. Each night of the show hosts a fundraising silent auction, 50/50 and meat draw.

Song sponsorships have been one of The Cariboo Express’s biggest fundraising successes, with the band creating a unique song or skit about sponsor businesses each night of the Cariboo Express. For $1,000, sponsors will receive advertising each night, two tickets to the night of their choice, and a framed signed commemorative poster. For more information, please contact Bev Elder, executive director of the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank, at 250-655-0679.

The Cariboo Express show takes place at the Mary Winspear Centre (2243 Beacon Avenue, Sidney) on November 16, 17 and 18 at 7:30 pm. Tickets ($70) are available at:
