The holiday season is here and what better way to celebrate than with the Victoria Symphony as they kick off their 2024/25 seasonal performances!
“As we head into the holidays, we are once again grateful and honoured to be part of many Island family traditions,” says Victoria Symphony CEO Matthew White. “This year, we’ve made some meaningful enhancements to our performances that we feel will resonate with audiences and help create a memorable and heartwarming holiday season.”
Victoria Symphony’s holiday lineup begins with their popular Christmas Pops performances, featuring the return of Canadian Brass, and wraps up on Jan. 1 with their annual New Year’s Day Celebration!
Christmas Pops with Canadian Brass – Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 2:30 p.m.
Canadian Brass returns to the Royal Theatre with jazzy, upbeat renditions of holiday classics. “The last time this world-famous brass quintet performed with the Victoria Symphony, tickets sold out fast. Christmas Pops with the Victoria Symphony
Maestro Giuseppe Pietraroia and the Victoria Symphony bring the show on the road, visiting communities across Vancouver Island. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Messiah by Candlelight – Dec. 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m. (SOLD OUT)
This year, VS will perform Handel’s Messiah by candlelight at Christ Church Cathedral, with local choirs, including the Victoria Children’s Choir and the Christ Church Cathedral Young Choristers, joining VS for this special experience.
Home Alone in Concert – Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The beloved holiday comedy Home Alone comes to life in this unique concert experience at the Royal Theatre. Enjoy John Williams’ charming and delightful score performed live by the Victoria Symphony as the film plays on the big screen. Perfect holiday fun for the whole family! Tickets available online.
New Year’s Day Celebration – Jan. 1 at 2:30 p.m.
Ring in 2025 with the Victoria Symphony, soprano Tracy Dahl, members of the Pacific Opera Victoria Chorus and dancers from Ballet Victoria at the Royal Theatre.
