‘Tis the season for family musical theatre in Saanich

Four Seasons presents The Vault Brothers’ Show at Claremont’s Ridge Theatre

Four Seasons Musical Theatre is celebrating 43 years of family entertainment and hits the stage this weekend and next with the original production of The Vault Brothers’ Show at Claremont secondary’s Ridge Theatre.

Saif and Lok Vault (played by Corey McEwen and Christian Bergen) will be the Masters of Ceremony who will guide the audience through scenes such family favourites as The Little Mermaid, A Christmas Carol, Oliver, and Secret Garden.

Many original cast members are returning to perform scenes from previous productions, including Tori Farkas, who reprises her role as Mary Lennox from Secret Garden, and Julia French who was Fiona in Shrek. Expect strong vocal performances from this talented bunch of actors.

This show comes on the heels of the very well-received Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last May. One audience member commented that the show was “fantastic; just as good as the Donny Osmond version I saw years ago.”

Mary Alice Jenkins is creative director for the production, while Jeremy Nothiez serves as musical director. With Four Seasons being family community theatre, all production team members are volunteers, from the costumers and set builders to the crew. This keeps the costs down so that the show is affordable to a broad range of people.

Multiple generations in families participate, either on stage or behind the scenes: Stage manager Andrea Black’s son, Austin, plays the role of Willy Wonka in Vault Brothers, while father and daughter Vince and Chantelle are building sets together.

Upcoming performance times for The Vault Brothers’ Show are Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 and 7 p.m., with the same times planned for Nov. 16 and 17.
