On March 1, at 7:30 p.m., put some swing in your step with the sounds of Cara McCandless and the freshly minted rock and roll band Rockoon featuring musical veterans Dan Brown on vocals, Kevin Wood on guitar, Jacob Dale on bass, and keeping them on beat, Doug Treit on drums. Tickets are $20.

On March 2 at 3 p.m., spend the first Sunday of the month with James Hamilton and the soothing sounds of his sitar as he takes audience members on a worldly and pleasant musical journey. Tickets are $20.

On March 4, tune into the Eugene and Billy show at 5:30 p.m. with hosts Eugene Smith and Bill Levity as the dynamic duo provides great music and stage banter along with interviews and more music from their invited guests. Entry by donation. The boys return to the stage again on March 18.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. Stick around or swing by the Showroom for their 'Dress Rehearsal' Tuesday, also known as the venue's weekly open mic night which gets underway at 7:30 p.m. It's a great chance for newcomers to face their stage fright, and get their feet wet, or for past performers to bring new material to the stage.
Whether you sing, play an instrument, or both it is your time to shine at the Showroom. Each performer is allowed up to three songs, and the cover is $5 for everyone. The open mic night will be back again later in the month on March 11 and 18.

On March 5 at 7:30 p.m., lovers of live music will be howling for the sweet singer/songwriter sounds of Onna Lou and Shay Wolf as they make a stop at the Showroom while out on their Home Routes tour.
Wolf, known for her haunting, dreamy voice and emotional depth, is a prairie-born classical pianist turned singer-songwriter. Transitioning from classical to alternative pop, she explores raw human experiences.
Lou, who hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina, blends the sounds of Latin pop-rock with Argentine folk, jazz, tango, flamenco, and other Latin American rhythms. Lou's lyrics resonate deeply, often reflecting her sharp insights and subtle yet powerful poetry. Tickets are $25 at the door.

On March 7 at 7 p.m., head down to the Showroom for some 'Sober Karaoke'. Sign up starts at 6:30 p.m., and the singing gets underway at 7 p.m. $5 cover for all.

On March 9 at 3 p.m., axe your plans in favour of seeing sought after acoustic guitar player Adam Dobres at the Showroom. This recent resident of Cowichan Valley has not only recorded on several others musical projects but has produced one of his own. Admission is a donation of $20.

On March 14, at 7:30 p.m., choose your weekend plans wisely and spend Friday night with The Chosen Ones. Gracing the Showroom stage for the second time, they bring with them a solid rhythm section along with electric guitars for a rocking good time as they take their audience members on a fun-tastic musical journey. Tickets are $25.

On March 15 at 7:30 p.m., Longevity John is expecting music lovers to pour in to see Rainshadow AI who were a huge hit as the closing band in City Square for last year's 39 Days of July. Falkner said he will have to have a dance floor for this one, so come out and get your groove on for $25.

Shamrocks and green beer are all well and good, but on March 16 at 7:30 p.m., the Showroom starts the party a day early to celebrate everyone's favourite Celtic holiday with the Hounds of Cuchulain for their St. Patrick's Day Bash.
Music lovers are in luck as this evening of entertainment delivers all the goods with classic Celtic instruments including the Irish tenor banjo, fiddles, whistles, as well as the sounds of the accordion, mandolin, harp, drums and bass. Celebrate St. Paddy's Day and the sounds of Irish for $25.

As we enter the second month of the 'Year of the Snake' live music lovers will want to slither their way down to the Showroom on March 17 to see Monte and the Pythons who will grace the stage at 6:30 p.m.
The bi-monthly musical series features Monte Nordstrom, John Robertson, and Nick Jarvie as they showcase original material and invite special guests to sit in. Admission is a donation of $20.

On March 21 at 7:30 p.m., spring into the new season with the sounds of Malakai, who will be celebrating his sweet 16 skilfully serenading audience members at the Showroom — a wish he has been fulfilling on his special day for years. Malakai continues to hone his writing skills as he delivers amazing arrangements with every performance with a knack for pulling his audiences into areas of thought where they might not have otherwise ventured. Tickets for a night of music with the birthday boy are $20.

On March 23 at 2 p.m., get lost in the art of storytelling with 'Island Storytellers Presents'.
These storytellers gather in various groups up and down the island as they hone their craft of telling tales. These groups include the Victoria Storytellers' Guild, Nanaimo's The Around Town Tellers, and the Mid-Island Storytellers, based out Qualicum Beach and Parksville. There will be two sets of stories lasting 45 minutes with a short break in between. A donation of $15 to $20 is suggested.

On March 25 at 7:30 p.m., go with the FLOW as Bill Levity hosts For the Love of Words.
Celebrating its 17th year, FLOW is a monthly invitation for all writers and poets to bring their inner thoughts and favourite words to the stage in front of a live audience. Each performer will be given five minutes to read their works. Admission is $5 for all performers, and $7 for audience members.

On March 27 at 7 p.m., be more hip than square and head to the Showroom for Songwriters in the Round.
This monthly event features three singer songwriters who take turns trading off five to six songs as the ensuing banter and transparency of a musician's life comes to the forefront. This month's round of talent includes Jack Porter, Reuben Shepherd and Salome Cullen.

On March 28 at 7:30 p.m., feel at home at the Showroom with the energetic four-piece band Haven.
Vocalist Natalie Foley is backed by seasoned musicians Peter Bacsalmasi on lead guitar, Don Carscadden on bass, and Keith Bjorndahl on percussion. They weave the timeless allure of the oldies, and the raw energy of rock & roll along with their creative spark of original compositions that encompass the styles of folk, rock, country, and pop with collective harmonies. Tickets are $20.
