After performing to sold-out crowds in Toronto and the Edinburgh Fringe, Second City veteran Kevin Matviw (JFL42, Best of Toronto Fringe 2019) is bringing his hilarity to downtown Victoria with Comedy Walk: a COVID-safe comedic walking tour.

Drawing from Matviw’s experience headlining Toronto Sketch Fest and Toronto’s Big City Improv Festival, Comedy Walk will keep audiences coming back for more with biting satire and interactive characters.

“I wanted to provide COVID-safe work for local actors and comedians impacted by the pandemic. With a mix of scripted jokes and improv, we lovingly roast everything from buskers to holistic healing,” Kevin says. “There’s even a part where our tour guide is kidnapped by a gang of angry deer.”

The silliest way to get your steps in, Comedy Walk’s highbrow goofiness is written, performed and directed by Matviw, with performances from local talents Janine Fitzpatrick (Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding), Nash Park (The Ill-Informers Podcast), Dylan Clarke (Paper St. Theatre), Liz Colangelo (Paper St. Theatre), Elle Porterfield (Victoria Academy of Dramatic Arts) and Morgan Cranny (Entertainment Village).

“Our bellies hurt from laughing,” said Comedy Central UK, praising Kevin Matviw’s past work.

“Saturday Night Live Worthy, wrote the Globe and Mail.

The 50-minute tours start outside the Victoria Visitor Centre and run from July 2 to September 11.

Two shows run every Friday and Saturday night, starting at 6:30 and 8 pm (although start times will adjust as days become shorter).

Tickets, $25, will be on sale at comedywalk.ca. The tours are rated PG-14.
