A rising comedy star is bringing his Honest Dirty stand-up routine to Nanaimo as part of a nationwide tour.
Dustin Searcy will tell jokes March 1 at the Green Olive.
Searcy draws inspiration from life’s curveballs and shares humbling anecdotes to make people laugh.
“Despite the name of the tour a good chunk of my material isn’t dirty at all – I tell crazy family stories. I’ll make a cultural observation here and there. Don’t get me wrong, I will say some stuff your grandma will hate. Or not. Maybe your grandma is a bona fide freak. I try not to judge books by their cover,” Searcy said in a news release. “I can’t wait to perform in Nanaimo. I love touring the Island. I’ve been building this hour for the last few years in Vancouver and I’m excited to perform it in a place that appreciates live comedy.”
His hour of stand-up promises to be refreshing, unapologetic and self-aware. The Vancouver Island leg of his tour will be opened by comedian Ryan Wallace.
The March 1 show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance at http://dustinsearcy.com or $30 at the door.
