Parksville’s MAC to host Federation of Canadian Artists juried exhibition in April

2021 marks 25th anniversary of event for chapter

The McMillan Arts Centre (MAC) in Parksville is preparing to host a juried exhibition in April.

The Arrowsmith Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists (ACFCA) will showcase their spring juried exhibition from April 6 until May 2 at the MAC.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Arrowsmith Chapter juried exhibition. The group of more than 60 Parksville Qualicum Beach artists represent many different medium and levels of experience; from emerging artistes to acclaimed professionals. The submitted work is juried in Vancouver and the following results will be revealed at the exhibit.

The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) is a registered charity founded in 1941 by professional Canadian working artists. It continues to operate as a registered charity with members throughout Canada, and is dedicated to raising artistic standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of knowledge and achievement by offering what is believes to be the first completely artists’ sponsored gallery in Canada.

The MAC School for Create Arts, which offers mini-workshops each Sunday morning and afternoon until the end of June 2021, will continue to offer classes into April.

Gathering Your Frayed Edges, an Arts Therapy group with Marie Butler, continues on Mondays from March 22 until April 26, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

An online class of Zentagle BASICS BLACK class with Rhonda Roy will be held on Saturday, April 3, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Cindy Mawle with offer two workshops next month; It IS Easy Mixing Greens will be on Wednesday, April 7, from 9:30 a.m until 12:30 p.m.; and The Art of Shifting REDS will be held of Wednesday, April 14 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
