Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Boogie Gang are releasing their first self-titled CD this Friday at the VEC.

Get ready to shake, rattle and roll with Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Boogie Gang, Friday at the Victoria Event Centre. Slim Sandy (guitar, vocals and harmonica), Sascha Gilbert (lead guitar), Big Daddy Bo (bass), and the Rockin Reverend (drums) will have the whole room jiving to their brand of rockabilly as they release their first self-titled CD (produced by Keith Sonic and Miranda Liebel), featuring six original tracks and six covers of ’50s classics. The show also features burlesque dancers River Wilde and Silk E. Gunz. Arrive at 8:30 p.m. and get a jive lesson from “Be Boppin Baby.” Tickets are available at Culture Craze (Bay Centre and Mayfair Mall). $15 at the door. Bring your dancing shoes. M
