A collection of big-hearted local lawyers are donning their silks and hitting the stage next week at Langham Court Theatre for four performances of the classic story Treasure Island.

Lawyers On Stage Theatre Society (LOST) is tackling Bryony Lavery’s adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson tale Dec. 6 through 9 for its annual fundraiser, proceeds from which will go to TLC: Fund for Kids and the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre and a bursary for University of Victoria law or theatre students in need.

Helped by crew members from the local theatre community, director Kate Rubin is guiding a cast that includes Katie Webber as Jim Hawkins, Christopher Mackie as Long John Silver, Jim Legh as George Badger and UVic’s Associate Dean of Law, Gillian Calder as Dr. Livesey.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Dec. 6, 7 and 8, with a 2 p.m. matinee scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 9. Tickets; $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $15 for students; can be purchased online at langhamtheatre.ca/buytickets, reserved by phone at 250-384-2142, or bought in person at the theatre box office between noon and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
