The Jennifer Scott Quintet will be unveiling new songs for a live album recording during a performance in Nanaimo later this month.
Scott is a Vancouver-born vocalist and jazz pianist who also specializes in blues and world music. Her discography includes eight albums, beginning in 1994 with Interactive and most recently Storybook in 2009.
She has been previously nominated for Juno and Jessie awards with Mythos and the theatre production War of the Worlds. She was also a featured performer in the televised 2004 Glenn Gould Studio Concert Series in Toronto. She has performed with famous jazz musicians including Gene Bertoncini, Clark Terry, Tommy Banks, Paul Horn and Kenny Wheeler.
Alongside her in the upcoming show will be David Sikula on guitar, Nick Peck on keyboard, Rene Worst on bass and Bernie Aria on drums. The live album is planned for release early next year.
