IN CONCERT: Irish Tenors brighten holiday spirits

Dec. 15 performance at the Royal Theatre promises to be a memorable event

Nothing captures the feeling of the holidays better than the music of the season, which will ring out at the Royal Theatre with the bright, beloved voices of the Irish Tenors.

Having performed to sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall, Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl, and many others, the Tenors are returning to Victoria on Saturday, Dec. 15 for a night of holiday music and Irish classics.

Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan have been singing together for 20 years now, making their North American debut with a show on PBS in 1999.

Since then they have performed around the world, bringing with them their music and their famous Irish humour. Their “Ellis Island” concert, which aired on PBS, went on to sell a million CDs and DVDs.

All three performers are classically trained singers who have each made a name for themselves in their own right.

Together they build on each other’s strengths to bring new life to happy songs of celebration and humour, along with touching melodies.

The trio’s annual Christmas tour has become a tradition for many families to attend, and their Christmas album We Three Kings is among their most beloved.

Tickets start at $45 and are available online at rmts.bc.ca, by phone at 250-386-6121 or in person at the Royal or McPherson theatre box offices.
