A Highlands-based artist is hosting a local show in celebration of his latest album Alone Together, which is described as a skilfully crafted collection of Americana-style songs inspired by different stories, landscapes and characters.
On Saturday, April 26, Allen Dobb, joined by Cameron Dobb on keyboards and lap steel, and Katrina Kadoski on vocals, guitar and the banjo, will perform the 2024 album at the Highlands Community Hall.
"Steeped in their own rural roots growing up on a farm in northwestern Alberta near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the Dobb brothers bring a depth and maturity to the songs and the performance," noted a news release.
He has performed at the Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Mariposa folk festivals as well as the Bumbershoot Festival in the U.S. He has also toured the U.K. and has opened for a diverse group of artists, including Shawn Colvin, Jann Arden, Jesse Winchester, Peter Case, Darden Smith, and Ziggy Marley.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. with doors open at 6:45 p.m. Advance tickets are available at https://skippingstonemusic.ticketspice.com/allen-dobb-community-clean-up-concert-highlands.
