The Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM) presents Daniel Lapp’s annual Home for Christmas concert for its thirteenth year. The famed fiddler & trumpeter, along with Canadian jazz and blues singer Maureen Washington and many other guests, return to Alix Goolden Performance Hall for three concerts this Dec. 16 and 17.
“One of the many things I love about this concert is the incredible electric atmosphere when 175 spirited community & professional musicians all share the stage together” said Daniel Lapp. “The energy in the room is magical and the concert has become, for many, the moment that kickstarts the holiday season.”
Home for Christmas performers include many local music legends who are part of The Shiny H’ornaments, The Swingin’ Shepherds, Strings of Lights and dozens of Daniel’s students in Joy of Life Choir, Folkestra and BC Fiddle Orchestra.
“It’s a wonderful show full of Christmas spirit and community,” says Jane Butler McGregor, VCM’s CEO.
The concert takes place at the VCM’s Alix Goolden Performance Hall, an 800-seat venue on Pandora Ave.
All three concerts are for all ages and take place Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 17, at 2p.m. (matinee) and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets range from $15.35 to $26.00 and can be ordered online through vcm.bc.ca/events, by phoning 888.732.1682 and in person at the VCM Front Desk at 900 Johnson Street.
