St. Philip Jazz Vespers celebrates its 50th monthly edition

Enjoy Cuban jazz for Christmas as St. Philip Jazz Vespers celebrates its 50th monthly edition with musicians transforming and improvising with traditional Christmas music.

Cuban piano virtuoso Pablo Cardenas will be joined by special guest Miguel Valdes De La Hoz on trumpet, backed up by Ross Macdonald on bass and Bob Watts on drums.

Admission is by donation at the door to the Syrian Refugee Fund (cheques should be to St Philip Anglican Church).

Tax receipts are available for donations $10 up. An anonymous donor has pledged to match donations made at this event.

Cuban Christmas Jazz Vespers is Sunday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. at St Philip Anglican Church, 2928 Eastdowne Rd. For more info call 250-592-6124.
