transmission: Global Summit convention brings three days of workshops and three nights of art and music to Victoria Feb. 8-10

International entrepreneurs, creators and innovators are decending on Victoria this weekend for  transmission: Global Summit (TGS), Feb. 8 to 10. The three-day creative content and technology conference features more than 50 roundtable discussions, keynote addresses, discussion forums, innovation camp and transmitLive — three nights of art and music at various venues around town. On Wed., Feb. 8, the Atrium building will be the site for a five-storey digital media display (Viewable from Yates St) called Passages by Malcolm Levy, in collaboration with Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys). Lucky Bar is hosting a scratch video competition Thursday, featuring Scratch Bastid, Grahmzilla (Grizzly, Thunderheist), Grandtheft (Plant Music, T&A Records) and local favourite, Rhythmicon (sub|div, Whitebird). Greenspan is playing Lucky Friday night with Tyger Dhula, Dan Werb, Kids & Explosions, Gold & Youth (formerly The Racoons) and Dreamboat. Find out more at
